Day 3        Athens: At leisure
Today is perfect for exploring Athens. If you like, visit the Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum ($), or discover Plaka, the oldest district in the city.

Day 4        Athens - Northern Greece Tour: Delphi - Kalambaka (approx. 352 km)
After breakfast, embark on your Northern Greece tour! Travel through the beautiful Beotia region to Delphi and visit the archeological site. Next, head to Kalambaka, a small town located at the foot of the monasteries of Meteora. Enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Day 5        Northern Greece Tour: Kalambaka - Meteora Monasteries - Thessaloniki (approx. 227 km)
Today, visit the ageless monasteries of Meteora, perched atop breathtaking granite rocks. Next, travel through a beautiful valley on your way to Thessaloniki, the second-largest city in Greece. Enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Day 6        Northern Greece Tour: Thessaloniki
This morning, explore Thessaloniki. In the Byzantine era, Thessaloniki was second only to Constantinople in population and influence. Visit unique monuments, beautiful churches and the Museum of Byzantine Culture. The rest of the day is yours to explore this historical gem.

Day 7        Northern Greece Tour: Historical Macedonia (approx. 227 km)
Today, journey through historical Macedonia. Visit the picturesque town of Edessa, with its famous waterfalls. Continue to Naoussa, the site of Aristotle's school, then on to Vergina, where King Phillip II was assassinated and Alexander the Great took the throne. See the astonishing findings from the tomb of King Phillip II. In Veria, your final stop of the day, visit the Bema of Saint Paul and stroll through the old Jewish neighbourhood and colourful market. Return to Thessaloniki for the night.

Day 8        Thessaloniki - Chalkidiki (approx. 77 km)
After breakfast, head to Chalkidiki. Beach time starts today! Travel to beautiful Chalkidiki and settle in for five nights of sun and relaxation. This region in northern Greece is known for its jutting peninsulas, sandy beaches and sheltered bays. The region's notable archaeological sites include Stageira (Aristotle's birthplace) and Olynthus, known for its well-preserved mosaic floors.

Days 9 to 12        Chalkidiki: At Leisure
