DAY 1: Canada – Rome.

Depart for Rome.


DAY 2: Rome

Arrive in Rome and transfer to your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the Eternal City at your leisure.


DAY 3 : Rome

After breakfast, set off on a guided walking tour of Rome, from Largo di Torre Argentina to Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza Farnese, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Rome. (BB)


DAY 4: Rome • Montepulciano • Pienza • Siena (254 km)

Travel past Chianti’s rolling hills to the ancient, hilltop town of Montepulciano, brimming with medieval and Renaissance buildings, and home

to Nobile di Montepulciano, one of Italy’s oldest wines. Visit a wine cellar to taste wine and local products like ham, cheese and salami. Continue to the Renaissance town of Pienza, known for its pecorino cheese. Then, it’s off to Siena’s medieval Old Town and spectacular Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio bareback horse race is held twice a year. (BB/D)


DAY 5: Sienna • San Gimignano • Tavarnelle • Chianti area • Pisa • La Spezia (205 km)

After breakfast, depart for San Gimignano, the Town of Medieval Towers, before heading to the Chianti Classico region for wine tasting and a light snack at a farmhouse in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. Lunch at leisure in Pisa, followed by a guided walking tour of the historic centre, Piazza dei Miracoli with its famous Leaning Tower (exterior), the Baptistery (exterior) and other striking monuments. Dinner and overnight in La Spezia. (BB/D)


DAY 6: La Spezia • Porto Venere • Golfo dei Poeti • Cinque Terre • La Spezia (65 km)

After breakfast, spend the day discovering one of the most enchanting landscapes in the world. Suspended between land and sea, the five villages that make up Cinque Terre are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire amazing views as you travel along the coastline by boat (or coach and train in case of rough waters) to Porto Venere and other major villages. Free time to explore Porto Venere, Vernazza and

Monterosso. Dinner and overnight in La Spezia. (BB/D)


DAY 7: La Spezia • Carrara • Montecarlo • Rome (442 km)

After breakfast, visit Carrara’s impressive marble quarries carved deep into the mountain. See ancient tools, sculptures and a quarryman’s house at the quarry museum before continuing to Montecarlo. Next, stop at a farmhouse for wine tasting accompanied by olive oil, cheese,

bread, pasta and other Tuscan specialties. Overnight in Rome. (BB)


DAY 8: Rome

Spend the day exploring more of the Italian capital at your leisure. (BB)


DAY 9: Rome - Canada

Transfer to the airport for your return flight (Breakfast).
